What I do

I have a wide range of skills beyond the basics in creative design. I focus on making things more efficient and clear for both myself and my team. I'm always trying to come up with new ideas, not just by looking at visuals, but also by expanding my knowledge of design beyond my previous experiences and learning about the latest tools. I'm really into data – understanding the customer or client and the important goals that match the vision. Ultimately, I work hard to create innovative design ideas from scratch, but I also make sure I understand everything from the client or partner to the data and the ultimate goal.

I excel at developing top-notch advertising across multiple touchpoints such as film, OOH, on-platform, web, events, product, packaging, and beyond. My expertise lies in leading both in-house and external teams in creative strategy, execution, and production. I ensure consistency in art direction across all brand products, platforms, and campaigns while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to reach a global audience. My track record includes successfully handling high-profile, collaborative projects across various executions.

  • I'm a true creative at heart, passionate about using creative suite software to bring both small and big ideas to life. I'm particularly interested in the evolving field of AI and how it can be used to improve efficiency and enhance design in ways that haven't been possible before due to limitations in available tools.

  • I believe I can create anything I set my mind to, and my MacBook can handle it. I don't view challenges as problems, but rather as opportunities to improve and learn.

  • I've been a design director for the past ten years, and one of my core beliefs is that it requires a team, not just one person, to turn ideas into reality. I prioritize promoting diversity of thought, unbiased actions, and contributions, while also finding ways to make work processes more efficient when managing design projects and working with teams.

  • My lifelong goal is to keep making beautiful, meaningful, and inspiring designs for various projects. I'm passionate about design, and I plan to stick with it forever. I've had the privilege of collaborating with many talented brands and individuals on successful campaigns, and in the future, I aspire to be a prominent leader in the industry, setting a positive example for the next generation of designers.

  • In my role as a Creative Art Director at Amazon Prime Video, I am responsible for overseeing global marketing and streaming campaigns across various channels. I excel at understanding creative briefs and creating innovative visuals for global channels, titles, originals, and campaigns that span Prime streaming services and Amazon categories. I continuously challenge myself as a problem solver, taking quick and decisive actions, and I have an entrepreneurial mindset that drives me to explore new approaches. I lead brainstorming sessions, bring creative concepts to fruition, and collaborate with a team of designers, writers, and creative directors. Additionally, I work closely with a network of motion designers, directors, and marketing professionals to deliver outstanding creative campaigns and experiences that reach millions of customers worldwide.

  • As the Director of Creative and Brand Strategy for the Florida Panthers, my primary role involved overseeing the growth of the team's brand and developing creative strategies for each season. I was responsible for creating creative briefs and seasonal campaigns aimed at engaging fans and generating new revenue in the marketplace, both through in-game experiences and unique creative initiatives. I collaborated with a team of designers, leadership, the hockey operations team, and the communication team to bring these creative visions to life, ensuring that our efforts made a strong statement each season.

In addition to creative responsibilities, I played a significant role in forming partnerships and leading creative presentations to attract new partners for revenue-generating initiatives. This involved envisioning how their brand identity would be integrated into ours. My ultimate goal and responsibility were to continue growing the business while making a positive creative impact with integrity, enhancing the experience for fans, customers, partners, and teams within the league and the industry as a whole.

  • As the Creative Director at Guy Harvey, Inc., my role involved overseeing the creative direction and the brand's growth across various business areas, including marketing, partnerships, fashion, and conservation. I was responsible for curating fashion lines, defining marketing objectives for year-round customer experiences, and establishing creative partnerships for the brand. I had the opportunity to collaborate with regional brands such as SeaWorld, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Bass Pro, and even country music stars like Jake Owen to create brand presence and collaborative projects. Some of the work I contributed to can still be seen today in Orlando and California SeaWorld theme parks, Busch Gardens, and on Norwegian Cruise Line ships.

Additionally, I worked closely with the Guy Harvey Research Institute to develop the brand's identity and initiatives in collaboration with leading conservationists and scientists. Together, through creative and marketing efforts, we aimed to raise awareness about marine life and its critical role in our planet's ecosystem.

  • Connecting with the next generation of creators holds immense significance for me on multiple levels. It involves not only sharing my own journey and the steps I've taken to achieve my goals but also offering practical advice based on real-world experiences. I aim to impart essential principles that can be applied to daily processes and objectives, ultimately guiding aspiring designers toward their ultimate career aspirations.

Given the rapid evolution of the creative landscape, it's crucial to share my knowledge and engage in meaningful conversations with both students and peers. Drawing from my own experiences, I can shed light on what it's truly like in the field and how to approach challenges as opportunities for growth. My personal mantra is to design with intention, emphasizing the importance of purpose behind every effort. Additionally, I believe in the significance of accessible education, tools, and role models within the industry to provide valuable learning opportunities and insights.

  • I'm currently working towards my master's degree in graphic design and visual communication at Savannah College of Art and Design, and this journey strongly aligns with my belief in the importance of purposeful design. Additionally, I firmly believe that as creators, our learning journey never truly ends, and ceasing to learn can hinder our potential for visionary growth and broader perspectives.

While I'm dedicated to my master's program, one of my primary areas of focus and thesis objectives revolves around delving deeper into the current and future applications of AI in the field of design and other aspects of our world. I find the evolution of AI as a creative tool truly fascinating, as it has the potential to enhance efficiency and spark innovative ideas for visionary exploration. Despite the apprehension that many people have about AI today, I view it as an opportunity not only to enhance my skills as a designer but also to acquire proficiency in a new tool that will be essential in the future of design. My aim is to share this knowledge and contribute to a better understanding of AI's role in shaping the future of design.

Licenses & Certifications

I am a firm believer in continual learning and expanding my knowledge by staying updated on the latest trends in the creative realm, as well as enhancing my expertise in the design landscape. To achieve this, I actively pursue certificates and licenses that I can apply in my day-to-day career, as demonstrated here.

  • Amazon Web Services | Issued December 2023

This certification caters to both technical and non-technical individuals who lack familiarity with blockchain but are keen to understand how this technology can address business challenges. It covers fundamental blockchain concepts, advantages, and potential challenges, offering real-world examples of businesses successfully employing blockchain to meet specific needs.

Internet of things (IoT) devices collect data to keep manufacturing plants running efficiently, manage operating conditions on factory floors, monitor homes and businesses, and more. Understanding how to gather this data and unlock the insights from these devices is an important aspect to any solution using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) is an IP address allocation method that improves data routing efficiency on the internet. Every machine, server, and end-user device that connects to the internet has a unique number, called an IP address, associated with it. Devices find and communicate with one another by using these IP addresses. Organizations use CIDR to allocate IP addresses flexibly and efficiently in their networks.

  • SCAD, Savannah College of Art and Design | Issued October 2023

Through this certification, I acquired knowledge on systematically approaching the initial phase of the design thinking process: Develop Empathy. Lextant's methodology for this step focuses on defining what people value in a manner that is actionable for design. The certification is based on Lextant's five steps within this process, and it involves understanding the six key principles that guide thinking in this endeavor. It further encompasses Lextant's proven principles and techniques to transform future-focused research into experience-driven design strategies that are clear and highly actionable for all functions within an organization.
